During the demonstration, the Army put the system through multiple training "vignettes" that validated both the design and functionality of the system.<br /> "We are ready to begin the certification process in order to be fielding in March 2014, for the Gray Eagle locations," said Viva Austin, product director for the Army's Unmanned Systems Airspace Integration.<br /> The five locations for Gray Eagle basing and training include <st1:city w:st="on">Fort Hood</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">Texas</st1:state>; <st1:city w:st="on">Fort Riley</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">Kan.</st1:state>; <st1:city w:st="on">Fort Stewart</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">Ga.</st1:state>; <st1:city w:st="on">Fort Campbell</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">Ky.</st1:state>; and <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Fort Bragg</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">N.C.</st1:state></st1:place> It's expected the first system will field in March 2014 at <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">Fort</st1:placetype> <st1:placename w:st="on">Hood</st1:placename></st1:place>. About three months later, the system should field to <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">Fort</st1:placetype> <st1:placename w:st="on">Riley</st1:placename></st1:place>. All five sites should be equipped with the GBSAA system by 2015, officials said.<br /> The GBSAA is a radar and warning system designed to allow Soldiers to fly unmanned aerial systems, like the Gray Eagle, inside the National Air Space, while still meeting Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
